NEW CONTRACT
On December 14, 2002 Members of Local Lodge 971 West Palm Beach, FL. employed by Pratt & Whitney (UTC) ratified the employers final offer by an overwhelming majority. The following is a summary of the new collective bargaining agreement:

· 4-year agreement January 26, 2003 through January 26, 2007

· General wage Increases of 3% 3% 3% 4%

· $1000.00 signing bonus with a 50% match from employer if invested in savings plan

· Pension increase; $4.00 boost from $42.00 per month of credited

service to $46.00

· Enhanced voluntary early retirement with severance of $5000.00 plus 1 weeks pay for each year of accrued pension benefit; 12 months free medical and dental coverage. A person must be at least 55 years old with 25 years of pension service to be eligible

· Medical insurance premium share increases moderately each year of contract for coverage. In 4th year of contract medical plan design changes from 90/10 plan to an 80/20 plan with maximum out of pocket caps.

· Modest increases in UTC savings plan weekly match

· Job security language negotiated for Maintenance Trades subcontracting.

· Various language improvements
